Broke.

Today I realized what it means to be a college kid (apparently that is not a proper word, but oh well). If you thought that being a college kid meant you would grow intellectually, study until your eyes fall out, never sleep, eat dirt, and have a whole lot of fun while doing it, well you are wrong. Why are you wrong? Glad you asked! The real meaning of being a college kid is being flat broke. Growing up I always thought this was a funny term, but as of today I discovered that the term isn’t really that funny at all. When I checked on my account today, the balance read zero. I thought for a long time about what I could do to get some extra cash and then it finally hit me, "April, you are of age, buy a lottery ticket!" I know that you are probably thinking that I am insane, but wait until I am finished to pass your judgments. So I walked into the store and bought 2 lottery tickets. I was sure that today was going to be a lucky day because I had picked up a penny (heads up) earlier that morning. I scratched the funky silver stuff off with my lucky penny and then was amazed. The first one said that I won $5.00. Now, I know that isn’t much, but to a starving college kid, $5.00 can go along way! Get this; on the second one I didn’t win $5.00, but $50.00. Ya, I know, I’m pretty much amazing! The rest is history after that.

Okay, so I made up that entire story. I just thought that it went well with the picture. Well, most of the story is false, but the part about being flat broke is true. I honestly have a bank account of zero.
